The Isola Superiore also known as the Fishermen’s Island is certainly the most characteristic of the Borromeo islands on Lago Maggiore, owes its name to the activity of its inhabitants. The Island is connected to Stresa and Baveno by a regular public boat service and it is a good cross road for every kind of excursion: to reach the other islands (Bella and Madre), to visit the beautiful villas and gardens along the coast to get to the top of the mountain, also with a cableway to enjoy a marvellous view over the top of the Mottarone Mountain of 7 lakes (Maggiore, Orta, Mergozzo and 4 Lombard lakes) and the majestic Italian and Swiss Alps.
